The Schilthorn Hut not only offers great food and the perfect base for skiing and hiking. It also impresses its guests with the unbeatable panorama of the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and even more peaks.
The house of the Mürren Ski Club is the highest accommodation in the Mürren-Schilthorn area. In summer, tours are possible across the Bietenlücke into the Saustal, up the Schilthorn or to Mürren. The small climbing garden "Riggli" is located directly below the hut. When there is snow, the hut is in the centre of the ski area, right next to the piste and close to the snowpark.
Opening dates
The hut is open.
In winter the opening Dates vary depending on snow and weather conditions. Current information is communicated on the website.
Infrastructure
The mountain restaurant has a spacious sitting room and sun terrace.
The simple accommodation offers room for 25 people in the dormitory on the upper floor.
Showers and toilet are located in the basement.
Overnight guests must bring their own sleeping bag (liner). Alternatively one can be rented on site.
The mobile network is sufficient for telephony and internet. Card payment is therefore also possible.
Location
The house is located in the middle of the skiing and hiking area Mürren-Schilthorn.
In winter you can reach the hut within a few minutes with the chairlift Muttleren or Kandahar.
The Schilthorn Hut can be reached on foot from the Birg station in about 40 minutes (downhill).
From Mürren the hike via Kanonenrohr (uphill) takes about 2h15.
