The Jungfrau Region is situated in the Bernese Oberland, in between lake Brienz and Thun and the world-famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. Grindelwald, Wengen, Mürren, Lauterbrunnen and the Haslital are the main holiday villages within this amazing Alpine World.

Arrival by car

In both summer and winter the region can be reached by car from Basel/Zurich/Geneva via Bern or Lucerne/Brünig Pass. From the south, you reach the Jungfrau Region via Grimsel- or Sustenpass (only in Summer)or via Simplonpass and afterwards Lötschberg Car Transport.

Grindelwald
There are different car parks: Parkhaus Eiger+ (252 car parks) and Parkhaus Sportzentrum (160 car parks) or Grindelwald Grund.

Wengen and Mürren are car-free.
Parking for Wengen is available in Lauterbrunnen, Parking for Mürren in Lauterbrunnen and Stechelberg. Please make sure, that you type in «Lauterbrunnen» as your destination. There is no road that goes to Wengen or Mürren. If you type in «Wengen» or «Mürren», the navigation system will lead you on a small alpine gravel road where no private cars are allowed.

Direct, sheltered access to the trains for Wengen and Mürren from the car park in Lauterbrunnen.
The Lauterbrunnen car park is located at the outskirts of the village, just before the train station. Parking spaces can be reserved for a minimum of 5 days (winter) online. Please enter the parking code upon arrival. A separate reservation must be made for each vehicle. The car park in Stechelberg with direct access to the cable car to Gimmelwald and Mürren, however, is not covered. There are 1500 parkingspaces.

We recommend that holiday guests purchase a 7, 14 or 30 day pre-paid ticket. Take a ticket on entering the car park, go to the automatic payment machine, select the pre-paid option and pay CHF 40, CHF 65 or CHF 80. The ticket is then validated to allow unrestricted exit and access to the car park for a period of 7, 14 or 30 days respectively. The ticket must be inserted into the exit ticket machine and is automatically reissued each time the holder exits the car park.
