Fish for four

A country house in 1838. Year after year, the brewery heiresses Charlotte, Cäcilie and Clementine spend the summer there together with their servant Rudolf. Rudolf has been at the sisters' service for almost 20 years. He spends tender hours with each of them - admittedly without the knowledge of the other - and each of them had promised to remember him in the will. When he now plans a trip around the world to recover and asks for payment ahead of time, he has done the math without his three employers. Love and pleasurable hours, yes, but when it comes to money, the pleasure stops. Who or what is left at the end after real confessions and false fishing?
