Put the climbing finches on and get the rope ready
The Riggli Climbing Garden is a good place for families with over 30 short and well-secured routes in difficulty levels 4c to 6c.
Topos can be found in the climbing guides Interlaken (Vertical Sport) or Plaisir.
The terrain below the wall is grass-covered and easy to walk on. There is also a grassy area above the wall from which some routes can be hung from the top. This means that you can directly climb toprope here. Thanks to the southern orientation, the limestone rock warms up pleasantly in summer.
If you spend the whole day climbing, you can take refreshments in the Schilthorn hut just above the routes.
Season
The climbing garden is mainly used from June to October. The routes are situated at an altitude of about 2400 metres, so it can be fresh even in summer.
Costs
Use of the sport climbing routes is free of charge.
Only the costs for the gondola ride to Mürren or Birg are charged.
Location
The climbing garden is located a few minutes' walk below the Schilthorn Hut.
The quickest way to get there is from Mürren by cable car to Birg station (middle station of the Schilthorn cable car). From Birg, follow the white signposts downhill through the Engetal and after about 40 minutes you will be at the foot of the wall.
