Birg

Thrill around the Birg station.

Birg, the middle station of the cable car between Mürren and the Schilthorn, is proudly situated on the rock massif - 1000 metres above Mürren. This station provides plenty of adrenalin, as there are various exposed structures here. It is definitely worth making a stop here on the way to the Schilthorn to see the attractions.

In summer, it is mainly excursionists who come here to walk along the Thrill Walk and take countless selfies on the platform.
In winter, Birg is a central point of the ski area. Many start their skiing day here and end it with the last rays of sunshine and a coffee on the terrace.

The bistro with a large sun terrace and two attractions with the best views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau await you here.

Thrill Walk
The Thrill Walk leads from the sun terrace down into the vertical walls of the mighty Birg massif. The walkway construction nestles along the rocks, swings under the viewing platform and cable car and finally returns to solid ground below the mountain railway station. The rock walkway contains various sections: a play of air, glass and lattice. After around 20 metres over a glass floor, there are ten metres over cattle grid floor elements. Eight metres of Nepal footbridge and an eight-metre-long crawling tunnel for children are also part of the walkway.

Swiss Skyline
The Skyline Walk panoramic platform invites you to take a thrilling tour: Attached directly to the Birg Terrace, the platform leads over the vertical abyss and offers a view of the panorama down to the ground. The construction, mainly made of steel and glass as well as a floor made of gratings, blends seamlessly into the landscape around the exposed Birg station and the angular rocky landscape thanks to its angular shape.

Bistro Birg
The bistro has a terrace that is larger than the interior. The reason: it's simply nicer outside.
Everything is on offer - drinks as well as hot and cold dishes.

Birg is located above Mürren at 2677 metres above sea level and is easiest to reach by cable car. In winter, the Riggli chairlift also takes you from the Schilthorn-hut up to Birg. In summer, the station is also on a hiking trail.
