Not just the crossing of the spectacular swing bridge needs courage, the ride up on the aerial cable car will also test your courage. The cable car, which used to be soley for access to the KWO’s installations, takes you high above the Trift gorge to the top station which is starting point for the 1h 30 hike to the bridge.

The Trift cable car travels up the gorge to the Trift glacier from where a short hike will take you up to the spectacular swing bridge. The hike to the swing bridge takes 1½ h. The Trift and Windegg SAC huts await to quench your hunger and thirst and are starting points for high-alpine hikes.

Hike:

After the 1.5-hour hike to the Triftbrücke bridge, the reward is a stunning view of the turquoise blue glacier lake and the tongue of the Triftgletscher. The way back leads past the SAC hut Windegg.
