Demanding mountain hike from the Lauterbrunnen valley to the Kander valley. The mountain paths are marked continuously and regularly with white-red-white colour. There are signposts at all junctions. According to the hiking scale of the Swiss Alpine Club, the entire route is classified as a T3 mountain hike. Some sections of the trail are secured with ropes, there is a short ladder, many scree and rubble areas and in some places you need your hands for balance (no climbing). There are also some exposed passages and for short distances the path is not always visible on the ground. By crossing the Gamchi Glacier you enter the "Eternal Ice". However, the glacier is covered with a thick layer of debris, so that no ice equipment is necessary. With good surefootedness, good mountain hiking equipment, good orientation skills and an elementary alpine experience, nothing stands in the way of this unique, eventful and impressive mountain hike.
