Sharing Fun in the Group

Sharing's a nice thing – unless it's about your favourite food, that's where the fun stops. But here in the Jungfrau Region, you can share experiences. And all this in front of a jaw-dropping natural backdrop.
Take Grindelwald-First, for example. A smooth gondola ride takes you from the village up to 2000 metres in just 20 min. Up here First lives up to its nickname – Top of Adventure. There's a zipline, mountain carts and scooter bikes. You can even let a giant eagle drag you and 3 of your friends through the mountain air. In addition, the area's great for hiking – for example to «Bachalpsee», one of the best-known mountain lakes in the region. The sunny terrace of the mountain restaurant First is inviting if you wanna have something tasty to eat or drink. Right next to it is the First Cliff Walk, a pathway built along the rock – thrills and killer views included.
On the other side of the valley there's another nice mountain where you can have fun – namely the Männlichen. Top class Formula 1 races are held here on a regular basis, the GP of Monaco is nothing against it. Sorry, that was a little exaggerated. Actually, the Summer Gemel experience is quite relaxed – it's all about having fun in a group and enjoying nature. But if you've driven a few times with these unique vehicles, you're allowed to step on the gas a bit more. Summer Gemel means as much as summer sled by the way. Good to know: All hands are on deck on the Männlichen this summer. For a new, faster cable-way with bigger gondolas. In May 2020 it's full throttle again with the Summer Gemel – even with a brand new track.
So, now for a few more special experiences that are particularly suitable when you're out and about with your dear company colleagues or any other kind of group:
#1 Eiger North Face – Stollenloch
What's a «Stollenloch»? That's a railway tunnel opening that leads directly into the mountain face. Not just any mountain face, but the notorious Eiger north face. Steeply and majestically, the north face towers at an altitude of 2000 metres and rewards successful summiteers with a breath-taking view of the Grindelwald valley below. Most who undertake this daring ascent have always been among the elite of the mountaineering world. Until now.
Experience the rush of adrenalin as the mountain air wafts right under your nose, 600 metres above the foot of the Eiger north face. Once out there, you're on your own. Don't worry, this isn't Bear Grylls – of course there are professional mountain guides to secure you.

#2 The ICE Bar
On the way to this attraction you also pass the «Stollenloch». But you don't even notice that on the train. We're talking about the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe. Up here you come across many other visitors from around the world. No wonder, as it’s one of the most popular attractions in Switzerland. But hidden in the ice palace, there's a small bar that groups can rent exclusively (bookable via Jungfrau Railways). There's absolutely no danger of a drink getting too warm here – because the whole bar is made out of ice. There's even a special whisky that's perfectly stored here in the eternal ice. Groups of up to 20 persons can enjoy an aperitif and even a game of curling.
Careful though, don't slip – would be a shame for the nice drink.
#3 Rapelling a waterfall
A waterfall, a rope, a lot of courage and a big load of adrenalin – these are the ingredients for this group experience. So conquer the waterfall with your team, well secured and supervised by the experienced mountain guides of the alpine school BERGFALKE. A look down might not be the smartest thing to do – but you should definitely check what's around you. Because you're in the beautiful area around the Susten mountain pass here.
After all the fun: Countless possibilities are waiting for you. Swiss Fondue, Raclette with the finest mountain cheese directly from the alp or a tasty farmer's buffet. Even with a view back to the waterfall – so even those who are not so free from vertigo and prefer to watch will get their money's worth. #4 Power Plant Tour of the KWO
This isn't about a tour through a garden. No, it's about one of the most important employers in our region. Namely the KWO, «Kraftwerke Oberhasli AG». They take care of one of the most complex hydropower systems in the Alps. Since its foundation in 1925, 13 power plants, eight reservoirs, 160 km of tunnels, hundreds of kilometres of pipelines, roads and cable cars have been built in numerous construction stages. Every year, the KWO produces electricity from hydropower for more than 1 million people. On their guided tours you can get an exciting insight into the world of hydropower. By the way, the Grimsel area is also top for hiking – and in the area there's also the historical Grimsel Hospice. A special place for overnight stays and meetings.
