European Heritage Day at Ballenberg

In keeping with the slogan ‘A countryside outing’, on this day the focus is on the Industrialist’s Villa from Burgdorf, Bern (361), also known as Chalet Schafroth, and the villa’s garden in particular.

Alongside croquet, cakes and drinks, tours of the villa will be offered all day. Our eateries, the pavilion and the gardens, our kiosk, the carousel and the circus trailer will also be taking pride of place. On our walking tours at 10 am and 2 pm, we’ll talk about how leisure activities were rediscovered in the countryside and how tourism also established itself outside cities.
