From Goethe to Tolkien
Poems by Johan Wolfgang von Goethe and Lord Byron - or a famous sketch by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy - were written in the Jungfrau Region. Even J.R.R. Tolkien, the author of "The Lord of the Rings", was inspired in his younger years when he wandered through the Bernese Oberland. And the Jungfrau Region even served as a film set for "Star Wars".
