Staubbach Waterfalls
The Trümmelbach drains the huge glacier walls of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and transports up to 20000 litres per second and 20000 tonnes of debris per year from its catchment area (24 km2), half of which is covered in snow and ice. The only accessible glacial waterfalls located inside a mountain in Europe remain open to visitors. The Trümmelbach Waterfalls are part of the 72 waterfalls of the Lauterbrunnen Valley, which also include the impressive Staubbach waterfall. A mostly flat walk leads from Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg, past streams cascading down vertical rock faces, some of which are several hundred metres high.
As the water plunges from the towering cliff, it disperses into fine, dust-like droplets—a spectacle that gave the waterfall its name: “Staub” means “dust” in German.
The Trümmelbach is listed in the "Federal Inventory of Landscapes and Natural Monuments of National Importance" and is part of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. Please note that the attraction is temporarily closed every spring due to extreme seasonal weather conditions.
Babies and small children under the age of 4, as well as dogs, are not allowed access to the Trümmelbach Falls for safety reasons.

Opening hours
The Trümmelbach Waterfalls are open daily from the beginning of April to the beginning of November. The exact opening dates in spring and closing dates in autumn may vary, as they depend on the weather.
April-June: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
July-August: 8.30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
September-November: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
