The Piz Gloria building is located on the summit of the Schilthorn. It is surrounded all around by sloping terrain.
In winter, the uppermost ski slope starts here at an altitude of just under 3,000 metres. In summer the summit can be reached via two hiking trails. However, these are often only free of snow as of early summer.
In 1969, the Schilthorn was the filming location for the James Bond classic "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". Today's 360° restaurant served as the base for the villain Blofeld and was given the name Piz Gloria - which has remained to this day.
