Spring is coming
The snow is melting, the flowers are sprouting - spring is awakening. Here in the Jungfrau Region too. We've already picked out a few pre-summer excursion tips for you.
The ten glacier waterfalls inside the mountain, made accessible by a tunnel lift, make the Trümmelbach Waterfall unique. They are considered the largest underground waterfalls in Europe. Here you will be fascinated by the power of the water and the deafening noise. The Trümmelbach alone drains the huge glacier walls of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau with up to 20,000 litres of water per second.
From the Wengen Allmend railway station, you hike for around an hour in the direction of Dirrenberg/Brandmadweg. You cross the world-famous slalom slope and the downhill course of the Lauberhorn races. At the Staubbachbench viewpoint, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Staubbachfall Waterfall, the mountains and the Upper Lauterbrunnen Valley. It is not unusual to see ibex up close.
Meiringen - a tranquil village in the Bernese Oberland, where the world-famous Sherlock Holmes once supposedly died. The First Railway takes you comfortably from Grindelwald to the starting point at the Bort middle station. Protected by a helmet, you then ride back to the starting point on tarmac roads with little traffic. Fun for the whole family. Mini scooter bikes are available for children (from 125 cm).
In four minutes, a funicular railway takes you from Mürren to Allmendhubel, where you will find the "Flower Park" adventure playground - with giant alpine flowers, grasses and oversized insects. And the water labyrinth. A play paradise against an impressive mountain backdrop. While the children let off steam, the adults can indulge in culinary delights on the sun terrace.
