Do you know the history of the Stüblis? It was in the year of our Lord 1866 when a certain Dr Gustav Beck from Biel purchased the property for CHF 6,000.00, on which he built a chalet in 1868 (insured sum in case of fire CHF 36,000.00). This chalet still stands today on the east side of the hotel. In 1892 Gottlieb Stettler acquired the chalet for CHF 45,000.00.
