Gimmelwald climbing garden
The challenging climbing walls make the heart of the sport climber beat faster. Experienced alpinists and climbers have left their mark on this area. In the two sectors "A Surfer's Paradise" and "B Civil Defence", routes of grades 5c to 8c have been bolted. A total of over 70 routes can be found in this limestone. You can let off steam here for days. Topos can be found in climbing guides from Vertical Sport, Filidor or Plaisir. The southern exposure means that the rock warms up quickly in summer. Depending on the sector, the rock is wet or dirty when the snow on top melts. A 50-minute walk leads from the village of Gimmelwald to the foot of the wall. Follow the gravel road in the direction of Chilchbalm. After crossing the river, a path on the right leads up to the wall.
Opening hours
Der Klettergarten wird hauptsächlich von Mai bis Oktober genutzt. Durch seine Lage auf rund 1500 Metern Höhe, sinken die Temperaturen im Winter stark.
