Lauteraarhorn

4042 m ü.M.

The starting points for the normal route up the Lauteraarhorn are the Lauteraarhütte and the Aarbiwak, accessible from the Grimsel Hospiz. In addition to the normal route, there are long, challenging, combined ascents via the southern or northern east face rib.

The first ascent was made on 8 August 1842 by Pierre Jean Édouard Desor, Christian Girard, Arnold Escher from Linth and the guides Melchior Bannholzer from the Haslital and Jakob Leuthold from Grindelwald.
