Lobhörner

Climbing with an impressive view of the surrounding four-thousand-metre peaks

This classic climbing tour in the Bernese Oberland offers an unrivalled experience with views of the surrounding mountain ranges. No climber should miss out on the exposed summits.

If you want to shorten the morning ascent a little, treat yourself to a night in the Lobhornhütte, from where you can reach the foot of the Lobhörner in 1h 40min. The approach from Sulwald takes about 2h 45min.

Once all the equipment has been assembled, the marvellous climb over the Zipfelmütze, the Kleine Lobhorn and the Grosse Lobhorn begins.
You have packed a 60 metre rope, 10 express carabiners and a few slings. This will get you comfortably over the routes in difficulty levels 2b to 4c. As many passages are an alpine path and not a climbing route, you should also pack mountain boots.
Topos can be found in the climbing guides Interlaken (Vertical Sport) or Plaisir.

Before you abseil down to the saddle from the last spike, enjoy the magnificent view once again during a long rest at the summit.

The Lobhörner lie at around 2500 metres above sea level between the Soustal and Saustal valleys. They are the easiest to reach from Sulwald. The ascent (downhill) from the Schilthorn is also a worthwhile tour.

Price

The crossing can be done free of charge. There may be a charge for travelling by gondola cableway from Isenfluh to Sulwald.
If you tackle the tour with a mountain guide, you pay the daily fee.
