On the trail of the master detective.

This exhibition provides interesting insights into the history of crime and policing in London in the 1990s. It shows that Scotland Yard still clings to the ideas of Holmes, the master detective, in the age of modern computer technology. In addition, the exhibition shows material collected about Holmes and Watson, the constant flood of letters that arrived daily at 221b Baker Street. This exhibition, which is primarily on loan, complements the museum's main permanent exhibit, the reconstructed, remodelled drawing room of the house at 221b Baker Street, where Holmes and Watson made their home for so many years. The development of this room, of the house built in 1780, is described separately, in a multilingual taped commentary. The first authentic and only replica of his living room at 221b Baker Street in the world gets under your skin.
