Haslital
Why do we call our pub the Green Harp? Ireland could not be better represented! When Henry VIII became King of Ireland in 1531, he declared the harp a national symbol. The instrument also became a symbol of resistance to the crown. Green has long been associated with Ireland and dates back to the revolution of 1789. Since then, it has been the undisputed national colour. Today, green no longer has a rebellious meaning, but unites people across the country peacefully and creates identification. Ireland is still called the Emerald Isle.
