“On Her Majesty’s Secret Service,” perhaps the best Bond film of all time, is set in 1969 on the Schilthorn—at nearly 3,000 meters above sea level. The 360-degree revolving restaurant Piz Gloria owes its name to this film. At Spy World, the interactive exhibition based on the film, you can take a tour that immerses you in the film’s production.
Thrills and breathtaking views—that’s what you’ll get on the First Cliff Walk. The steel structure at Birg, the midway station of the Schilthornbahn, runs along the cliff and ends with a 45-meter-long walkway jutting out into thin air. Wow!!

The Mürren-Schilthorn ski resort features 13 lifts and a total of 56 kilometers of slopes. These run from the village all the way up to the summit of the Schilthorn at 2,970 meters above sea level—making it the highest-altitude ski resort in the Bernese Oberland. Thanks to reliable snow conditions, it usually remains open until the end of April. Here, you can tackle the steepest run in the region. The Direttissima (No. 9) has a gradient of 88 percent. If you’re looking for even more action, you can let loose at the Skyline Snowpark. Or how about a run down a ski cross course? Meanwhile, on Mürren’s local mountain, the Allmendhubel, Lilly’s magical kids’ slope is sure to make children’s eyes light up. You can also enjoy a spectacular view of the snow-capped peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau while sledding—on the Apollo Run, a thrilling descent from Schiltgrat to Mürren, or on the Bob Run from Allmendhubel to Mürren, which is well-suited for beginners.

Surrounded by majestic Alpine peaks, you can skate to your heart’s content. Want to play a game of curling? Six outdoor and three indoor rinks are waiting for you. Thirsty or feeling a little hungry? You can grab a bite to eat anytime at the Time Out Bistro.
