Swiss Historic Hotels

Authentic, historic hotels and restaurants that emphasise hospitality and service quality. Since 2004, the Swiss Historic Hotels label has united precisely such establishments into a constantly growing network - and in this way enables guests to take an unforgettable journey back in time through all regions of Switzerland. There are also four hotels in the Jungfrau Region that have been awarded this label.

#1 Hotel Regina, Mürren

The over 100-year-old traditional house is located in the centre of the village of Mürren - 1650 m above sea level, far away from the hustle and bustle. The magnificent dining room, the sun terrace and the spacious veranda offer breathtaking views of the mountain panorama. The house has retained its charm over the years.

#2 Hotel Bellevue des Alpes, Kleine Scheidegg

One of the last grand hotels of the 19th century. This special hotel is situated on the Kleine Scheidegg, high above Grindelwald and Wengen and surrounded by alpine beauty. As the centre of the skiing and hiking region, this location also serves as a direct starting point for the Jungfraujoch. Even today, the hotel is still run as a family business, true to its traditions.
Here you find yourself directly beneath the infamous north face of the Eiger – some scenes from the 2008 film *Nordwand*, depicting the dramatic first ascent attempt, were shot at the Bellevue des Alpes.

#3 Hotel Falken, Wengen

The Hotel Falken in Wengen was built in 1895 on a hilltop with a magnificent view of the Jungfrau and the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Many of the original features – both inside and out – have been preserved. It is the only hotel from the town’s early days of tourism that remains intact.

#4 Grimsel Hospiz, Haslital

On the way to the Grimsel Pass, a hostel for destitute walkers and a former miners’ dwelling has been transformed into a very tasteful hotel for connoisseurs and nature lovers. In winter in particular, the Alpinhotel becomes a truly special oasis of tranquillity – buried deep in the snow, the historic building stands majestically amidst an unspoilt landscape.
