Trümmelbach Waterfalls

Ten waterfalls inside the mountain, accessible via a tunnel lift - unique in Europe.

The Trümmelbach drains the huge glacier walls of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau and transports up to 20000 litres per second and 20000 tonnes of debris per year from its catchment area (24 km2), half of which is covered in snow and ice. The only glacier waterfalls in Europe that are located inside the mountain and are still accessible.

The Trümmelbach Waterfalls are part of the 72 waterfalls of the Lauterbrunnen Valley, which also include the impressive Staubbachfall Waterfall. A mostly flat hike leads from Lauterbrunnen to Stechelberg past the water gushing down from vertical rock faces, some of which are several hundred metres high.
