Work experience days

You’re thinking of doing a vocational apprenticeship. But where? In which sector? At which company? Taster days are a great way for students who are in the middle of choosing a career to find out exactly that. We, too, regularly give interested students the chance to come and have a look around. Here, some of them share what they got up to during their visit.

Training overview

Commercial clerk

School days in Interlaken / Meiringen

  • 1st and 2nd year of training: 2 days
  • 3rd year of training: 1 day

Intercompany courses / Industry

Hotel, Catering and Tourism (HGT)

Rotating (assigned at the start, but not strictly fixed; approximately 6 months per department).

Work locations

  • The whole Jungfrau Region
  • First year of training & a further six months at the Tourist Information office in a resort (Mürren or Haslital and Grindelwald)
  • The remainder at the main office in Interlaken

Support during the training

Main trainer and practical trainers in the individual departments

Working hours

  • 42.5 hours per week
  • Irregular hours and weekend work depending on the department
  • Flexible working hours

Holiday entitlement

  • 5 weeks per training year
  • Public holidays
